THE COMPANY: Leading medical device and life science design and manufacturing specialist are seeking a Business Development Manager to cover the Irish and International market. With a headcount in the hundreds, and turnover in the multi-millions, this company partners with some of the world leading brands providing their top of the market innovative design and reliable manufacturing services in sectors such as surgical, orthopaedics, cardiovascular and life sciences. This company comes well known for quality design and reliable manufacturing services and are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join their growing team and help further grow the business both here in Ireland and abroad!
THE ROLE: As the successful Sales Manager you will be tasked with selling the company's manufacturing capabilities and services to the medical device industry. You will target some of the larger, Blue-chip Medical Device companies, offering them custom-based manufacturing solutions for their various projects which they may need to sub-contract out to a specialist manufacturing site. You will interact with a diverse range of decision makers, including Project Managers, MPI Engineers, Engineering Managers etc.
Travel will be required in this role, with up to 50% of your time spent out in the field. International travel may also be involved as you have the scope to target not only the Irish market, but the EU and USA markets too. There is a lot of autonomy in this role, and you will be responsible for planning your own diary. You will have the opportunity to work remotely, so you are not required to be in the office on the regular.
THE PERSON:
We are looking to speak with people who fit the criteria below:
* Extensive knowledge of the medical device manufacturing industry essential!
* Experience selling medical sub-contracting manufacturing services is essential
* Ideally you will have an Engineering Degree, although this is not a prerequisite
Our client has a preference for candidates coming from a medical device or life science background rather than a pharmaceutical background. You will be selling engineering/manufacturing capabilities and solutions to the medical device companies, working with the design process of medical devices from concept right through to completion. You may also be an engineer involved in design and manufacturing, currently working for a large medical manufacturer with experience in medical devices, looking to break into sales.
THE PACKAGE:
* Salary: €50,000 - €85,000 (DOE)
