Description
Gill Education is one of Ireland’s leading publishers of content for both the Primary and Secondary schools market. We also promote and sell a wide range of third-party literacy and numeracy resource materials. Our Education Sales Representatives are responsible for selling our wide product range, developing customer relationships and promoting the Gill brand within defined geographic territories.
Duties and responsibilities
Education Sales Representatives cover Primary and Secondary schools within their defined geographic areas. The key duties and responsibilities of this role are as follows:
· Secure adoptions of Primary and Secondary curriculum content packages in a variety of forms (text book, eBook, etc.)
· Promote and sell a wide range of literacy and numeracy support materials
· Act as key contact for, and develop effective working relationships with, Primary and Secondary schools across a designated territory
· Actively seek out, attend and participate in relevant trade exhibitions, subject conferences and other promotional events/opportunities
· Regularly report to the Head of Education Sales on achievement against targets, general market feedback on our products and other market information
· Organise and maintain customer data and records
· Attend subject conferences, roadshows and termly exhibitions throughout the year
· Work closely with Telemarketing to best manage your time and territory
· Collect booklists and communicate any market intelligence from within your territory
· Work independently to create sales pipelines and develop the Gill brand in your territory
· Take accountability/responsibility for all customer orders and queries both textbook-related and digital

· A track record of consistent achievement of targets
· An ability to assimilate complex product information at pace
· A degree of IT literacy and comfort
· A passion for sales and hunger to learn and consistently improve on selling techniques
· A customer-centred approach to all activities and communications
· Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
· Highly effective communication skills
· Goal-focused, with a positive ‘can-do’ disposition
· Experience in literacy and numeracy resource material sales an advantage
· Experience of selling into Primary and Secondary schools an advantage
Contract terms
A permanent role; full-time hours within the Primary and Secondary school calendar, with the flexibility required to properly service a large geographic area.
