Job Purpose:

The senior Digital Designer/Developer is an integral part of a creative team including Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Editors, Content Strategists, Content Writers and Quality Control Specialists. It is supported by a wider team of Project Managers, Campaign Directors and Customer Liaison Managers.The Senior Digital Developer/Designer plays a central role in helping the team deliver outstanding digital solutions by bringing technical and creative skills to the table and bridging the gap between design and development.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design/Development

� Work alongside Art Directors on client briefs to understand the marketing and creative needs in terms of business objectives and to develop strategic campaign concepts and tactical solutions

� Support in brand execution to ensure consistency across all channels and develop brand design standards

� Design and develop for a number of creative deliverables including, but not limited to: desktop/web/app interfaces/UI, email, HTML content templates, digital display advertising/web banners, etc.

Collaboration/Communication

� Collaborate with and support a multi-disciplinary team to develop both creative and technical solutions

� Understand and communicate complex ideas to customers and colleagues in a clear and efficient manner

� Work fluently and fluidly with a range of partners in highly technical to highly creative roles

Quality

� Ensure deliverables are free from errors and of a high standard of quality

� Develop brand/franchise knowledge, understanding of customer needs, and a consistent approach to service excellence

� Comply with recognised standards, practices, and regulatory requirements

� Work to further technical and creative expertise

IDEAL BACKGROUND

Education

� Bachelor’s degree in User Experience, Software Engineering, Product Design, Visual Arts or related; or equivalent learning experience

Experience

� 5+ years’ creative experience incorporating a strong technical background

� Experience taking projects from ideation through mock up and prototyping to development

� Experience and passion for layout, interface design, UI, and UX

� Digital portfolio required (websites/micro-sites, banners, interfaces/UI, emails, design documentation); animation and motion graphics examples a strong plus

� Experience working and collaborating in complex matrix environments

Skills and Abilities

� English (both written and spoken) essential

� Excellent knowledge of Adobe programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

� Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript essential; familiarity with SQL, PHP, ASP, and .NET a plus

� Strong UI, responsive design, platforms, and UX capabilities

� Pro-active handling complex situations and obstacles with the ability to ask for help and to help others

� Ability to collaborate as part of team and as well as to take projects end-to-end with little oversight

� Effective communicator and influencer with a passion for digital

� Ability to work in a practical, hands-on way

� Strong attention to detail

� Capable of digesting feedback and prioritizing project and business needs over personal preferences
