Our client is one of Ireland’s leading luxury bathroom & flooring retail specialists. They now have an exciting full-time opportunity to join their sales team as a wood and stone sales specialist in their luxury showroom in West Dublin.
Purpose of role:
As part of an experienced sales team within the business, the primary role is to increase the sales of natural coverings, in particular wood and stone and to help achieve the delivery of agreed sales targets and margins through both individual efforts and the retail and contracts sales teams.
Main tasks: Ranked by importance
1) Develop and increase sales of Wood Flooring to retail customers and the commercial specification and trade sectors.
2) To increase sales of Natural Stone products to retail customers and the commercial specification and trade sectors
3) Encourage and drive sales of Natural Coverings through the retail and contract sales teams.
4) Provide ongoing training and learning to the sales teams on Natural Coverings and ensure “best in class” levels of customer service are achieved throughout the entire sales process.
5) Assist in the maintenance of agreed showroom display, showroom quality and appearance levels for the Wood and Natural Stone showroom areas.
Scope of the role:
This is a key role within the business with achievement of agreed sales and margin targets for the Wood and Natural Stone critical to ongoing success of the company. The main focus for growth will come from Wood flooring and will involve developing an in-depth knowledge of the competitive and product environments. This role will also involve close and regular communication with the retail and contracts sales teams with high levels of self-motivation, effective leadership combined with good team playing characteristics.
In line with the retail environment, our client operate a 7 day trading cycle all members of the team will be required to work through this cycle on rotation. Some Sundays required – 1pm to 5pm only.
Skills: Professional selling skills are essential with a clear focus on balancing sales and gross margin. Effective leadership and interpersonal skills are essential. Problem solving and resolution skills linked with the ability to handle issues using a balance of initiative and use of existing systems and showroom management support. Full drivers licence. Good literacy and writing skills along with competent levels of IT, experience with computerised sales, stock and quotation system along a working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar packages.
Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of a professional retail environment along with a working knowledge of the specification, commercial and trade sectors of construction. Knowledge of natural materials, ideally wood and stone combined, ideal but not mandatory, experience of one is necessary.
Experience: A minimum 2 years’ experience within a professional retail sales environment with exposure to complex and involved sales processes where significant proactive interaction with customers is required. Some experience within the construction industry with specific experience dealing with natural coverings.
Attitudes: Enthusiastic personality with a proactive attitude to customers and customer service. A genuine desire to help support a positive team environment coupled with high levels of self-motivation.
Remuneration Package: Excellent basic salary (circa €45k) based on experience plus a performance-based bonus. References and medical check-up will be required.
