Established in 1832, the McMahon Group is Ireland’s largest independent Builders Providers with a multi-site trading business.  As part of the Groups continuing development, we are now seeking to recruit a Regional Sales Manager for Northern Ireland, based in our Derry branch

Regional Sales Manager- Northern Ireland


 Through effective leadership and the management of the sales team in the region, the          successful candidate will drive the delivery of profitable new and existing business


·        Drive the development and delivery of ambitious profitable sales plans for the region, through first class leadership of all sales teams and the development of excellent working relationships with existing and potential customers

·        Ensure sales territories are organised to maximise the effectiveness of the sales team resource and to provide optimum coverage of the allocated customer base

·        To provide an input to the sales and profit budgets and monitor and review a salesperson's performance against agreed criteria

·        Develop the capabilities within your team, ensuring that branch and sales goals are achieved by creating a highly engaged sales team with opportunities for personal development and growth at all levels in the region

·        Actively call on the regions key customers, spending at least 75% of time in the field independently and with the team

·        Developing relationships with key suppliers to ensure we become the merchant of choice

·        Conduct regular performance reviews and use business intelligent tools to identify opportunities, trends and carry out gap analysis

·        To work in close cooperation with our Purchasing department in order to achieve the best position on pricing

·        Ensure that the sales team achieve their monthly account collectable targets and that all customer issues are addressed in a timely manner

·        Monitor and report on local, regional and competitor activities; identify new opportunities within the region and provide relevant reports and information


The Person:

·        Be a self starter, ambitious and highly motivated

·        Have a proven track record in sales development and achieving targets in a demanding environment

·        Excellent knowledge of the Builders Providers and related sectors necessary

·        A strong geographical knowledge of the territories to be covered

·        Sales and customer focused, with strong account management skills

·        Be an excellent communicator and have ability to build lasting relationships with customers

·        Full clean driving licence
