In this exciting role, you will have the chance to gain your CIPS qualification, making this the ideal role in which to enhance your future prospects.
As a Trainee Buyer, you will learn about all aspects of supply chain management.
Through your training, you’ll learn how to effectively negotiate and order materials, including scientific products and components for our client’s R&D and manufacturing divisions. You’ll also ensure that inventory status is maintained in-line with Lean management principles.
Additionally, you will have the chance to take part in the following:
- Supplier liaison to ensure that goods are delivered on time and to the required quality
- Quotation request preparation and issue
- Quotation analysis and evaluation
- Cost monitoring and cost reduction implementation
Interested? Whilst no experience is required, to be considered, you’ll need:
- At least three A Levels (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Driven and self-motivated, as a Trainee Buyer, you’ll be eager to learn and expand your skill-set. You’ll also need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a great eye for detail.
Previous sourcing and/or buying experience would be beneficial, but this is by no means essential. Experience of conducting negotiations within the workplace would also be advantageous.
