Company Our client provides a wide range of dry ingredients solutions for the Food industry into the Irish market. Specifically, they supply to customers in the Processed Meat, Bakery, Snack Food, Flexitarian and Vegetarian product areas. Our client is customer-focused, with an agile approach to customer service, and over two decades of successful business behind them. There is a clear focus on sustainability and health and wellness in their ingredients. The Role As a BRC double A certified company the company s objective is to provide customers who are based in Ireland with first class products and service. Arising from continued growth they are now seeking to recruit an additional customer focused Business Development Manager for the Irish market. The successful candidate will provide some product and technical support to existing customers and close out sales with new customers. Responsibilities Ensure continuous sales growth through growing sales to existing customers, price negotiation, and proactive development of new sales. Engage and develop relationships with new potential customers. Identify new opportunities and follow up on potential leads. Monitor trends in the food sector and identify their implications and the opportunities they give rise to for the company to grow its sales. Support the Head of Commercial and R&D to determine, implement, and deliver innovative customer strategies that drive growth in margins and sales. Deliver growth in both sales and margins. Requirements 5 years plus experience of selling to the Irish Food Sector, with a very strong preference in the Food Ingredients sector. A passion for food with, preferably, though not necessarily, a food science degree or equivalent. A good knowledge of emerging trends in the processed food sector. Ability to interpret technical issues that arise in customers and relay them back to the R&D team within the company. Proficient in Microsoft packages. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Full Clean Driving License. Strong focus on customer service. Proven negotiation ability together with strong powers of persuasion and influence.
