"Basta" was established almost 50 years ago and is located in the town of Tubbercurry in Co. Sligo, Ireland by the Gallagher Family.

In 1998, the company acquired 'Worcester Parsons', the largest British manufacturer and supplier of 'up-market' brass and aluminum, extruded hinges. In 2001, the company acquired 'Latham'; who manufactured 'Conqueror' high quality friction hinges for PVCu windows.

The company now manufactures a large range of hardware products for timber, steel, aluminum, and PVCu doors and windows (including stays, fasteners, locks, handles, and hinges).

In September 2002, the acquisition of 'Arthur Shaw Manufacturing' was made. More recently, in January 2006, we bought Lister Locks Limited - a large distribution business.

The acquisition of these companies will enable the company to grow sales across the range, and offer a more comprehensive portfolio. It is also part of its strategic plan to further develop the company.
