Sales Representative - Building Materials
Sallynoggin, Dublin (office/field based, with travel throughout the region)

The Company

Part of Grafton Group Plc, Grafton Merchanting ROI is a significant player in the builder’s merchanting industry and a leader in Ireland.

Within Ireland, they also operate a strong DIY retailing organisation with stores nationwide and a kitchen business operating under a number of brands, including Chadwicks, Heiton Buckley and The Panelling Centre.

They are now looking for a Sales Representative to join their team in Sallynoggin and increase sales of their building materials.

The Role

As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating building material sales within a geographical area to achieve company objectives.

Engaging key strategic customers and potential contractors over the phone or in person, you will promote products and services, prepare quotations for customers and construct account plans to meet sales targets and gain maximum market advantage.

Your role will also involve:

- Ensuring payment terms are adhered to as per customer contracts
- Commercial management of project management activity
- Managing claims for products or service performance issues

About You

Interested? To be considered as a Sales Representative, you will need:

- At least two years’ building materials sales experience within the construction industry (i.e. a similar role in a builder’s merchants or construction related company and/or B2B selling in the construction industry)
- Proven experience of dealing with building contractors and specifiers
- An excellent knowledge of all existing and upcoming building material products
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal

Although not essential, a third level qualification in a construction or business related discipline would be beneficial to your application.
