The Role

As Business Development Manager reporting to the Managing Director, the overall challenge will be to plan, manage and lead business development activity to meet or exceed our growth targets. The role will primarily involve the following key responsibility areas:

Relationship Building

Supporting existing customer relationships in addition to developing new ones with the potential to provide long-term repeat business.

Strategic Development

Gathering market intelligence to help create business development strategies, to take an active lead in the Business Development Management process and work with colleagues to define, develop and deliver business development plans.

Experience and Knowledge:

• B2B Sales Experience – Mechanical Supplies and/or Industrial Supplies

• Successfully developed strategies to generate business and maximising opportunities to increase revenues and market share

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, the ability to present information in a clear manner.

• Experience of the Industrial Supplies & Retail sector (advantage but not essential).

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to undertake market appraisal and business cases as required to deliver growth.

• The ability to conduct commercial negotiations in a professional manner

• Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Must be highly driven and enjoy working with people.

• The ability to work independently, organise own workload, self-motivate and manage yourself and your time productively and effectively

• Experienced in communicating effectively at both Director & customer level.

• This position will enable the correct candidate to mould a working schedule, that will align with a  healthy understanding of the business requirements.
