My client is one of the best known digital recruitment companies in Ireland, they are undergoing a rapid International expansion. They are currently 4 years into entering the Chinese market; their expansion plans will see the business enter 72 new cities across china in the next 30 months. As part of this my client is now seeking to appoint a General Manager to drive all aspects of the business within one of these cities.
This is an extremely exciting and challenging role in one of China’s fastest growing and most successful on-line companies.
RESPONSIBILITES
• Provide leadership and direction for business operations
• Maintain full P&L responsibility for the business, and achieve or surpass sales and financial targets.
• Develop a strategic plan to grow the business in collaboration with the senior management team
• Establish performance goals which are aggressive, real and tied to overall company strategy and goals.
• Manage a large sales team (over 100 FTEs) via a managers/team leaders
• Represent the company in establishing and continuously growing relationships with business partners, customers and vendors.
• Attract, develop, motivate and retain staff, deploy them in an effective manner, and ensure effective succession planning is in place.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership role, preferably encompassing call centre, start up and/or online sales industry experience.
• Experience in online recruitment, media or recruitment industries a distinct advantage.
• A strong track record in a management role in a high growth organisation and industry.
• Client focused, with a proven track record of success in driving sales and profits, and in building and developing teams of highly performing sales professionals.
• Track record of improving the profitability and value of a firm or business unit in a senior leadership position, with demonstration of expertise in industry concepts, practices and procedures.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to work on his/her own initiative.
• Demonstrated experience in building large teams and growing companies.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong ability to work in high-pressure situations, and excellent business acumen.
• Fluency in Mandarin is not essential. An affinity with the market in China is an advantage, but not essential.
