Specifications Sales Manager

We are a leading manufacturer of paving and flags, masonry blocks, retaining walls, bricks (including a mortarless brick system), hollowcore flooring, precast stairs, concrete, blocks and quarried stone. We currently have a vacancy within our successful Sales team:

Specifications Sales Manager
(Ref: D/11/08/SSM)

The successful candidate is required to effectively manage relationships with key specifiers of Acheson & Glover’s products and contribute to increased sales through winning new specifications and overturning those of competitors

KEY DUTIES

1) To identify the key architects, contractors, authorities and other specifiers of products and deliver increased sales through developing and maintaining close relationships
2) To provide relevant technical advice and recommendations to customers and colleagues, with respect to the best possible solutions to meet the needs of specifiers and contractors both on site and at design stage
3) To research the most up-to-date and relevant technical information and advances relating to Acheson & Glover products
4) To track and convert specifications through to order and overturn competitors’ specifications
5) To identify potential specifiers not using Acheson & Glover products and deliver plans for winning the business
6) To play a key role in fully developing and using the company’s CRM system to record and analyse customer account information and promote 1st class customer service
7) To identify potential new market opportunities for Acheson & Glover and key market trends
8) To work as an effective member of the external sales team for Acheson & Glover
9) To liaise and coordinate with colleagues in the rest of the sales team to deliver CPDs as required
10) To work effectively with all other functions of the business including internal sales, credit control and despatch to ensure the highest level of customer service
11) To work closely with production and quality assurance colleagues to ensure that all appropriate product quality and technical accreditations are achieved and kept fully up-to-date
12) To positively influence customers’ perceptions of Acheson & Glover and promote the company as being the supplier of choice for concrete products
13) To act as an ambassador for Acheson & Glover and promote the company’s values at all times

Essential Criteria:

• Knowledge of clients, specifiers and customer bases in Ireland
• 3 + years experience in a Specification Sales Management role
• Proven experience of effective delivery of CPD’s
• Comprehensive knowledge of all of Acheson & Glover Ltd’s products and their applications
• Technically competent
• Experience of dealing with customers at the highest level
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Valid, clean driving licence
Desirable Criteria:

• Relevant industry experience
