Medical Sales Representative
PPL biomechanics (Podiatry Products Limited) are an SME which have been manufacturing Custom Orthotic Devices since 1993. PPL are now the leading supplier of Orthoses and other biomechanical devices and footwear in Ireland, selling to physiotherapists, podiatrists and other medical professionals, in the public and private sector. In keeping pace with our growth, PPL now offer an exciting position to medical sales candidates based within commutable distance from Dublin.
Covering a 26 county territory your product portfolio will include custom and pre-manufactured foot orthoses, specialised footwear and rehabilitation devices.
Candidates for this role will need to have sales experience, preferably within a medical/healthcare setting. Working in a niche area but with established products and superb back up, your brief will be to maintain and grow the company’s market share within the podiatric arena.
An excellent salary consisting of a basic of €30-€35k with OTE of €50k will apply. The successful candidate will also benefit from a company car, mobile phone, laptop & expenses.
Role Description
Reporting to the Sales/Business Development Manager, the newly appointed Medical Sales Representative, will have responsibility for generating sales for PPL’s product range. They will schedule sales calls and cold calls to specified contacts, predominately in the podiatric and physiotherapy sectors, to agreed call ratios on a weekly/monthly basis. Sales calls will include demonstrations and presentations on all products within the product portfolio. The primary function of this role will be to build and maintain customer relationships and grow sales from both the existing customer base, and from acquiring new business through the identification of previously untapped sources. This role will be 80% field based. The successful candidate will gather data on marketing trends, competitive products and pricing.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Actively sell company products and services by interacting with established and new target customers, in the field.
• Provide feedback on customers, promotional programs and environmental changes and provide ideas to improve product and company performance in the market place.
• Daily completion of sales calls contact sheets, to be entered into CRM by sales support staff – the medical sales representative will be supported by the sales support administrator.
• Attendance at relevant conferences, tradeshows and meetings.
• Maintains records and prepare reports in a timely manner on all phases of sales activities.
• Participate in weekly sales meetings with Sales/Business Development Manager to review and plan sales activities
• Participate in monthly sales meeting with Sales/Business Development Manager, Managing Director and other relevant managers
• Key accounts management.
• Achievement of sales goals on a quarterly and annual basis
• Assist Sales/Business Development Manager and customer service team as required
Essential Skills
• Minimum 3 years experience in a field sales role within the medical or similar area.
• Computer Literate-demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy.

Desirable Skills:
• Knowledge of the podiatric and/or physiotherapy markets is desirable but not essential.
• Interest in Sports/Sports Medicine or related area.
• A third level qualification in a relevant discipline.
