Allianz Engineering is one of the leading engineering insurance and inspection providers in the UK. Working for all types and sizes of customers from large multi-nationals to local owner operators, we provide a range of engineering insurance covers and inspection services to business.
Central to supporting this activity are our Development teams across the UK and Ireland and we are now looking for a dedicated individual to join our Northern Development team as an Assistant Business Development Underwriter.
The role will support the Ireland activity, so can be based in either our Dublin or Belfast locations.
As part of this dynamic team, your role will be to support the Northern Development team with the retention and acquisition of profitable engineering inspection and insurance business. Primarily this will involve assisting and supporting the Development Underwriters and Account Managers with the acquisition of new business through trading with our brokers.
You’ll do this by building relationships over the phone, delivering excellent customer service and ultimately delivering excellent business results. You will have the opportunity to take advantage of our award winning Underwriting Academy, as well as being eligible to receive support to work towards your CII insurance qualification.

What you will bring:
* An interest in building a career in general insurance is essential.
* Excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude
* Desire and ability to achieve and exceed sales targets
* Ability to build relationships, influence and negotiate across multiple stakeholders
* Demonstrate and consistently deliver excellent customer service
* ‘A’ levels or equivalent and 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English, Grade C or above are essential
