The Restaurants Association of Ireland are hiring for the position of Business Development & Sponsorship Manager.
This person will be responsible for acquiring new sponsors and liaising with existing sponsor partners through the development of sponsorship packages for conferences, events and campaigns.
The Business Development & Sponsorship Manager will research and identify companies and organisations to support RAI conferences/awards/campaigns through sponsorships, contributions and grants. They will create sponsorship and exhibitor packages according to client specification and will be responsible for event specific fundraising goals.
This position reports directly to the Chief Executive.
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
· Utilise telephone, electronic and written correspondence plus face-to-face meetings as tools in order to reach and exceed the budgeted sponsorship target for each event/conference;
· Research and develop a list of potential sponsors for each event/conference;
· Research and develop a list of potential exhibitors when required;
· Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsorship clients and exhibitors;
· Maintain precise records of conversations with all clients, sponsors and exhibitors;
· Update the company Salesforce database as required;
· Liaise with Accounts Dept. in issuing invoices to sponsors and exhibitors once agreements have been reached;
· Draft sponsorship contracts and keep record of all incoming agreed payments;
· Coordinate various services for clients;
· Obtain client artwork and marketing materials to assist the events team in meeting print deadlines;
· Assist in preparing promotional material to advertise sponsorship opportunities;
· Maintain knowledge of conference/event timelines and sponsorship deadlines;
· Professionally represent the RAI at all times;
· Attend events and conferences outside of usual office hours.

· Ability to apply mathematical concepts to understand financial statements, budgets and cash flow.

· Ability to negotiate on behalf of both the client and the RAI to achieve maximum benefit for both parties.
· Ability and knowledge of a variety of sales and presentation software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are a must.
· Ability to effectively present information both electronically and in person and respond to questions from clients
Educational Requirements:
It is preferred for the candidate to have a Business Administration or equivalent degree, with 3-5 years’ experience in corporate sales.
A reasonable combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Other desirable traits:
This position is suited to a self-motivated, target driven, professional person who can confidently work with a variety of people.
A proven track record in delivering sponsorship and fundraising targets is essential.
Diplomacy, tact and a sense of humour are a plus!
Remuneration:
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
