The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the flow of incoming raw materials to meet the production needs of the business units, ensuring efficient flow of production and shipments to reach customer satisfaction.
The role will involve negotiating with key supplies and maintenance of supplier records.
Duties include:
* Use Materials requirements planning (MRP) for the identification/procurement and control of raw materials.
* Carry out purchasing requirements relating to suppliers, tools and equipment.
* Maintenance of supplier records/ Non-Disclosure Agreements.
* Liaise with materials and operations teams with regard to customer care and schedules.
* Establish quarterly performance report findings in line with document procedures.
* Assist and support materials warehousing and quality staff with raw materials complaints.
* Compliance to all site Health and Safety and Environmental requirements/ regulations.
Requirements :
* Minimum of 3 years purchasing experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
* Must have experience in Material requirements planning systems (MRP).
* Understand the principles of WCM, JOT manufacturing, Kanbans, FIFO etc.
* Be able to work as part of a team.
* Ability to prioritise and organise tasks and work to specific deadlines.
