Brand Activation Manager

Orion Group Sciences are looking for a Brand Activation Manager for our multinational pharmaceutical client based in the Dublin area on an initial 12-month contract with the potential to extend.

Job Purpose
The Brand Activation team is tasked with developing and deploying best in class local marketing plans grounded in consumer, shopper & customer insight to build sustainable growth and profit.

In conjunction with the regional brand team, the Senior Commercial Activation Manager is responsible for the management of the mass brand portfolio at a local level. This involves the localisation and optimisation of regional Integrated Marketing Campaigns for best in class execution in market across key FMCG brands.

In the management of this portfolio, an integral aspect of the role is the implementation of a new way of working as the grocery focused brands move to a new model with the introduction of a third-party field sales provider.

Main Responsibilities of the role

Lead the local business planning process for the client. Provide upfront input on local requirements and assess relevancy of regional initiatives for Irish market
Be proactive around the identification of local market and brand requirements across the mass portfolio via the use and collation of internal and external data
Set appropriate metrics & objectives and ensure that all activities meet revenue, profit and share expectations
Ensure successful NPI launches and commercial strategy initiatives
Develop channel specific strategies (mass, pharmacy, discounter, e-commerce) & secure optimized shopper marketing plans incorporating a master DDPP plan (display, distribution, promotion, price)
Develop, adapt and implement key monitoring and evaluation targets
Oversee local market share tracking and own proactive strategy adaptation
Provide input on primary research
Manage, challenge and reconcile local budgets
Act as key marketing lead in management of third-party sales provider
Establish and implement new ways of working to best deliver on brand growth and profit
Be agile in approach
Manage marketing communication process with provider
Ensure merging of third party leanings, internal metrics and in market data to generate actional insights
In conjunction with Group Commercial Activation Manager, attract, motivate and develop best in class local brand activation capability
Develop Commercial Activation Executive and ensure talent progression
Act as mentor for talent as per department requirements
In conjunction with Group Commercial Activation Manager, act as key lead within Brand planning process, providing support and coaching across commercial team
Management of department BME, assessing movement over time, manage changes across portfolio
Drive the RGM (Revenue Growth Management) agenda and act as department lead

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

University Degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualification
3 to 5 years’ experience in relevant marketing/ commercial role
Proven ability in managing complexity and/or change
Excellent data analytical capacity
Affinity to operational & customer focused business
Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Warehouse & SAP
Ability to manage change
Ability to deal with complexity
Highly analytical
