JOB PURPOSE

The Proofreader is an integral part of the creative and content team including Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Editors, Content Strategists, Copywriters, and Quality Control Specialists supporting—and supported by a wider team of Project Managers, Campaign Directors, and Customer Liaison Managers.

For this role, the Proofreader will join the Knowledge Management team, working to ensure content is high quality, accurate, correct and free from all errors.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Collaboration

� Communicate errors and issues with the writers to ensure that content is correct and that learning's are captured and shared

� Collaborate efficiently and effectively as part of an international, multidisciplinary team spanning multiple time zones and support be vendors across the globe

Execution

� Review all relevant materials for text, graphic, layout, formatting and consistency errors in accordance with the supplied guidelines

� Ensure all content adheres to tone, voice, style and other brand or campaign guidelines; regulatory and technical guidelines; project requirements; and channel best-practices

� Contribute to the on-going improvement and revision of guidelines based on learning's and new business needs

� Perform functionality checks on digital deliverable (audio quality, web interactivity, etc.), as applicable

� Monitor and maintain version control throughout the content creation process

� Revise content based on team and customer stakeholder direction and feedback

� Complete work within allotted time (or communicate early and clearly why it is not possible to do so)

Quality

� Ensure all content is accurate, complete, consistent, and error-free

� Review and revise one’s own work and the work of others

� Develop process and platform knowledge, an understanding of customer needs, and a consistent approach to service excellence

� Comply with recognised standards, practices, and regulatory requirements

� Proactive participate in quality improvement activities and quality reporting

IDEAL BACKGROUND

� Bachelor’s degree in English, writing, communication, marketing, advertising or related fields

� Additional experience or education in pharma, life sciences, or medicine a strong plus

� +3 year's experience in Proofreading, Quality Control, or similar

� Experience in a creative production environment

� Knowledge of AP and/or AMA style a plus

� Fluent English (both written and spoken) essential; US English preferable (90% of content will be in US English)

� Excellent reading comprehension and comparison skills

� Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

� Communication, collaboration, and organisation

� Pro-active handling complex or ambiguous situations and obstacles

� Ability to think systematically, organise, and prioritise effectively in an occasionally fast-paced and pressurised agency environment

� Capable of collaborating with and motivating others

� Proofreading and QC/QA skills

� Ability to proofread content for errors and inconsistencies across formats, versions, etc.
