THE COMPANY: Our client is a global market leader within the manufacturing industry. They design, manufacture and install bespoke engineering equipment for the Food & Beverage industry. With a turnover into the millions, they are the leading manufacturer of niche equipment, offering niche engineering solutions for their client’s requirements. They are now looking for a Territory Sales Manager to cover the South of Ireland. This is a huge opportunity to work for a global manufacturer who excel in their sector.
THE ROLE: Their products include packaging solutions, conveyors, quality control equipment, weighing machinery and much more. As this is a solution-based sale, you will need to assess the needs of the client and provide a bespoke solution to fit their requirements. You liaise with a variety of decision makers, including Production Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance Engineers etc.
You will cover the South of Ireland, from Meath all the way down to Cork. This role will be predominantly account management for the first year as you settle into the role and learn the equipment and the market. However, as you become more established within the company you will be expected to win new business. A full induction plan is on offer to the successful Sales Manager, with training done both in sales and products.
THE PERSON: Due to the nature of the products and solutions that the company offers, the ideal candidate with come from a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering background, and ideally be degree qualified. Experience selling technical machinery and capital equipment into the Food & Beverage industry is also desirable. You will ideally come from a capital equipment sales background, with experience selling high-value products with a long lead time. Traits for the ideal candidate include having a strong technical aptitude with the ability to pick up technical products quite quickly, with a strong work ethic, and the ability to nurture a slow-paced sales process.
