We are are looking for a bright and ambitious, target driven specification sales manager who will deliver defined targets within the specification and merchant sector in Ireland. This person will work collaboratively with the Merlyn sales team in Ireland and the Dublin area.
The ideal candidate must have an already proven track record in the field of Specification –Merchants and retail selling and have a good contact base with the architects, builders and Contractors in the greater Dublin area in particular.
This person will develop a cradle to grave sales plan, working with key customers including National and regional housebuilders, contractors, social housing groups, clients, architects, & designers, and merchants.
The Specification Sales Manager will report to the National Sales Manager in Ireland.
Position to be based preferably in the Dublin region.

Act as a key member of the sales team in Ireland.
Add to a culture within Merlyn based on high performance and agreed sales principles and objectives.
Regularly maintain & report on sales pipeline.
Build and develop key customers and a project pipeline ensuring sustainable sales growth.
Working with the sales team assisting them in expanding the business by looking for new opportunities in new markets with new customers
Create a sustainable relationship between client and our merchant partner customers to maximise sales opportunities.
Works directly/indirectly to support the team to ensure we maximise opportunities with our most valued customers, both direct and indirect.
Working as part of the Irish retail merchant and specification team as well as the wider Merlyn sales team and business. Working alongside finance, taking a part in the management of the company’s margin targets.
*************Knowledge/Experience requirements *****************
Exceptional knowledge (5-10 Years) of the Irish construction industry including the residential sector, national and regional merchants, and all influencing factors including customers, projects and total supply chain management.
Sound financial understanding of costs, mark up and margins.
Strong understanding of Merlyn and competitors’ products.
A strategic thinker with a practical approach to turning vision into reality
Strength in developing and managing clients, projects and total supply chain management.
A very driven self-starter capable of finding new opportunities and delivering new and established sales channels.
IT knowledge and skills, to support generation of management information to support decision making, and enable decisions to be made within the specification team.
Identification skills, striving to best manage large quantities of information.
Knowledge of the bathroom sector.
Sales driven and focused, a self-starter capable of delivering results in new and existing markets.
Problem solving / opportunity identification
Strong organisational skills.
