An exciting role for an experienced sales leader, looking for the opportunity to build a team, and be part of an IT Distributor with ambitious growth plans based on solid business growth within various sectors including retail, B2B, government & education.

This is a newly created role, the key to which will be successfully delivering progressive revenue goals while developing team members, driving a positive team environment and creating a culture of success.

The Challenge

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing & leading a team of internal Account Executives & external Account Managers and Product managers across a varied range of products & brands.

The Role

o    Lead a sales team across core sales responsibilities including acquiring clients; building pipeline; negotiating and selling

o    Help the team to bring potential clients to an understanding of the products & options that are applicable to their situation, demonstrating how features and benefits match their needs

o    Beat revenue and activity targets on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis

o    Ensure an outstanding customer experience is achieved

o    Deliver best in class Employee Engagement results through inspirational leadership

o    Act as a single point of leadership contact for the Managing Director

o    Analyse the various data available to determine opportunities for Account Managers & customers

o    Create & organise overall sales team structure with MD

o    Help identify opportunities for growth

o    Own the coaching and development of the team – particularly enhancing individual sales skills

o    Take an active and regular part in meeting customers, larger quotes, deals & opportunities

o    Engage with the Marketing team to help drive marketing programs and activities

o    Prioritising and dealing with all issues that arise

o    Developing excellent relationships with our vendors & customers

o    Recruitment, induction, integration and retention of staff

o    Developing your staff in terms of coaching and mentoring

o    Collate customer profiling & competitor information

 

 

Expectations for Success

o    5+ years’ experience of managing a high performing sales team, in metrics focused environment

o    Experience in creating sales strategies and sales management processes

o    Strong selling skills with the ability to coach others and help develop opportunities with their prospects & customers

o    Proven track record of motivation and inspirational aptitudes

o    Competence in liaising with customers at all levels up to senior director level.

o    Ability to multi-task and run multiple activities concurrently, Able to lead by example, hands-on leadership

o    Excellent communication skills, attention to detail

o    Skilled at dealing with ambiguity & conflict

Strong numerical skills, understanding margins and costs, profits etc

o    Strong drive for results, while retaining a focus on consistently delivering a great customer experience

o    Ensuring company achieves and exceeds monthly and annual targets

o    Strong team player and supporter

o    Organisational agility; knowing how to get things done through formal and informal channels

o    Excellent IT skills, MicroSoft Office. PowerPoint, Excel

o    Good working knowledge of Salesforce/ Saleslogix / Sage CRM or similar
