Exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join a leading power protection company based in Co. Dublin.

Under the direction of the Sales Manager or General Manager, the Sales Engineer will assist in the development of new and existing sales. This position will be responsible for providing front end product knowledge and technical support for a variety of channels.


1 Acquiring a thorough working knowledge of all the company’s products and a thorough understanding of all their applications.
2 Developing and refining all the necessary engineering and selling skills to meet and exceed your personal objectives and matching the company standards.
3 Preparing for and attending monthly sales meetings at which you will be required to formally present an analysis of monthly sales forecast.
4 Developing a harmonious and good working relationship with other employees of the company conducive towards engendering a good team spirit.
5 Maintaining and developing a productive and cordial relationship with customers and suppliers which is synonymous with the good reputation already attached to the company name.
6 Responding to sales enquiries.

This will require:

1 First line responsibility for daily telephone sales enquiries.
2 Responding to other types of sales enquiries as requested by any incoming enquiry be it field, or web based.

* Sending an appropriate covering letter and information pack when required.
* Taking responsibility for the presentation, accuracy and technical content of quotations and proposals.
* Taking first line responsibility for updating and improving the presentation and production efficiency of quotations and proposals.
* Making full use of our drawing packages to append drawings of proposed equipment layout and electrical schematics to our quotations.
* Managing an ongoing program of pro-active telephone sales enquiries to Consultancies, End Users, and Electrical Contractors.
* Determining projects they may be involved with and which may require company services.
* Striking up a working relationship with consultants and electrical contractors.
* Updating database with revisions to the company details and their personnel.

External Business Relationships:

* Communication with external customers and suppliers
* Attendance at trade shows, exhibits, seminars, and conferences related to training and training tools when applicable.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Strong engineering expertise

* Strong relationship builder
* Self motivated and motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks within a busy environment
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, maintaining excellent relationships with key contacts both internally & externally
* Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites with an emphasis on PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
