Your new company An organisation within the Energy industry. Your new role As Head of External Communications and Engagement you will lead and drive the external engagement for the company. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of an External Communications Strategy, developing and maintaining a multi-year NI Communications strategy including all means of media messaging establishing appropriate governance and assessment framework, you will lead, develop and maintain effective relationships with key business representative bodies, politicians, Departments and Departmental Executive Committees, communities, media and other key stakeholders across Northern Ireland and you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the press office, all external publications and all related brand or media related research and development. You will be responsible for developing and implementing engagement plans to support best practice community engagement for the successful delivery projects, oversee the development of and day to day operation of the website and the related social media accounts, you will act as a senior adviser to the business on all external communication related issues, work in partnership with the Group functions to realise synergies of the Group Operating model, you will manage external agencies on publications, advertising, including writing and production of material for external use and prepare and present plain English translations of strategic reports and documents to internal and external stakeholders and you will liaise with colleagues across the Group as required to understand stakeholder needs in relation to Grid Development, the company's role and stakeholder relationships in NI. What you'll need to succeed You will have outstanding external communications expertise built through experience of delivery at a senior level across a range of business functions, Media and Corporate experience specifically experience with a wide range of media and stakeholder groups, exemplary leadership skills, strong public affairs management and sound judgment with demonstrable experience of leading an organisation's communications through transition or challenging times and ability and experience of engaging with diverse levels of stakeholders and partners across society. You will have experience of creating, leading and influencing a high performing team in a changing environment, exceptional collaboration and influencing skills, able to work with internal and external stakeholders and an excellent communicator with the ability to simply explain complex issues to a wide range of stakeholders and get buy in from staff to new ways of working. You will be a team player who can work calmly and quickly in challenging environments, have the ability to interact with executives with confidence, and provide advice on their communications. Knowledge of the energy sector and of regulation is advantageous. What you'll get in return Excellent salary £65,000-£75,000 depending on experience, 15% bonus, 25 days annual leave, up to 8% pension. health insurance and hybrid working.
