Background to Keynote Address:
Colin Gordon was appointed CEO of Glanbia Consumer Foods Ireland in March 2006. Prior to that he headed up C&C Ireland for 8 years where he oversaw the performance of Ireland’s largest soft drinks company and the development of Magners in Northern Ireland. He has held a number of other senior management positions within C&C Group and elsewhere in Irish Industry for over 25 years.
Colin is a Fellow of the Marketing Institute and was a founder and Chairperson for 5 years of Bord Bia’s Brand Forum. He is on the Council of Food and Drinks Industry of Ireland, is Chairman of the Consumer Foods Council, a Board Member of Bord Bia’s Consumer Food Board and a former President of the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund.
Glanbia Consumer Foods Ireland
Glanbia Consumer Foods is Ireland’s largest food company, employing over 800 people in its Consumer Foods Division. It operates across seven different product categories from ten different sites across the island. According to recently published market information, Glanbia Consumer Foods it has seven out of the top 100 brands in the Irish grocery market – the only company to have such a record – and supplies almost 2 million consumer units to the trade per day. Glanbia Consumer Foods Ireland is part of Glanbia Plc which operates across the world in a whole range of food ingredient and nutrition businesses.
